Project Overview
We developed a pharmaceutical B2C e-commerce platform for Hardej Pharmacy to enable customers easily browse, search, and purchase pharmaceutical and healthcare products online. The platform was designed to provide a seamless shopping experience with product categories, prescriptions management, inventory visibility, order tracking, and secure checkout.
In addition to the e-commerce platform, we integrated the system with QuickBooks Desktop to automatically synchronize products, stock levels, pricing, and sales records. This ensured that inventory and sales information on the website remained directly connected with the accounting and inventory system used by the pharmacy.
The Challenge of the Project
Managing pharmaceutical products manually across both an online store and an accounting system created challenges for the pharmacy. Products had to be entered separately into the website and into the accounting software, which often led to inconsistencies in stock levels, duplicated work, pricing errors, and inaccurate sales reporting.
The major challenge was creating a reliable integration between the online pharmacy platform and QuickBooks Desktop so that:
- Products created or updated in QuickBooks automatically appear on the website
- Inventory levels remain synchronized between the store and accounting system
- Sales made on the website are reflected in QuickBooks in real time
- Product availability and pricing stay accurate
- Staff spend less time on manual data entry and reconciliation
The project also required ensuring security, performance, and accuracy because pharmaceutical inventory and sales records must be carefully managed.
Final Results
The completed platform gave Hardej Pharmacy a fully functional pharmaceutical B2C online store integrated directly with QuickBooks Desktop. The pharmacy can now manage products from one place while automatically keeping both systems updated.
As a result:
- Product information and inventory are synchronized automatically
- Online sales are accurately recorded in QuickBooks
- Customers can only purchase products that are available in stock
- Manual work and inventory errors have been significantly reduced
- The pharmacy now has better visibility into sales, product movement, and stock levels
- The business can scale its online operations more efficiently
